Red Rock Canyon — The Legend of Billy Bob Joe
The legend is that Billy Bob Joe was the first to blaze the trail into Red Rock Canyon. But he disappeared and nobody knows where he's at. Everyboby says he must have made it through because they have never found him or his truck. However many believe his still in the Canyon somewhere.
Legend also has it that he was running from the law and his truck was packed with gold. (like the BB Cooper story). And since it's been over ten years if you could find his truck, then the gold would be yours.
This story has become the backdrop for one of the most hair raising outlandish downright dangerous competition in the 4x4 racing and big motor rock climbing world. Every year it is the culmination of a long series big power car and truck competitions around the world.
Red Canyon has destroyied more vehicles and ruined more marriages and lifes than any other 4x4 competition. It's history is litter with carcases of men and machines who fought valiatantly muscle and power their way up the canyon only either to blow themselves to kingdom come or tumble down the mountain side as a broken heap of dreams.
